Golden Globes Tonight! Time to think Oscar Party!

This weekend begins award season with the Golden Globe awards on Sunday night! Will you be watching? Who are you rooting for to take home those lovely trophies (or do you just admire the fabulous clothes?)

So that means one thing, ladies…it’s time to start planning those Oscar parties!  Although you’ll be watching all of these women in gorgeous gowns and the men in their tuxedos, there’s no reason why your Oscar Party has to be formal!  We love the idea of a casual gathering – where yoga pants are perfectly acceptable! So here are our tips to be a DIY Party Diva! These are our favorite ideas  for a laid-back and fun Oscar Night Party:

We started with a Table Vogue table cover. They make simple (and ugly) folding tables look amazing! We used a square card table but you can use any size table! Add a “red carpet” table runner, party props and some glittered stars and you have the backdrop for a really pretty table setting!

We raided my Halloween bin for the black ceramic candlesticks, serving pieces and black acrylic (Target $2.99) glasses – then just jazzed them up with gold ribbon, stars and some gold candles.

Feathers, masks, and other assorted candles and a gold Christmas box turned backwards help set the scene.

We loved these free “Hollywood Star” printables from BNute.com.

We created a similar graphic for the framed welcome note.

Of course, we ALWAYS love the idea of  fun wearable props like feather boas, black and red fedoras, sparkling tiaras and crowns,  fun sunglasses (to block those paparazzi flashbulbs) and some blingy rings and bracelets for your guests to wear!

Just add some eats – we love the idea of simple but filling appetizers – apples, grapes, cheese and crackers and of course, popcorn! Now all you need do is to invite some great friends over and you have all the makings of a memorable Oscar evening!
