Isn’t it wonderful that our girlfriends are so great at so many different kinds of things? In this case, well, it’s FISHING! This Labor Day Weekend, our family headed out to have some fun in the mountains, lakes and cool pine trees of northern Arizona. Although we grew up in the South in a passionate hunting and fishing family and we know how to rough it, it doesn’t mean we choose to! We booked several cabins at a cute little lakeside resort – no camping, only glamping, thank you very much! We like to enjoy our nature with all the creature comforts! LOL!
Our “semi-rustic” party included nightly campfires, s’mores, star-gazing, lots of fresh air and a little angling! However Joli is the only one of the sisters that got the fishing gene! She actually loves it – and I can’t stand the thought! Crickets, nightcrawlers and worms – oh … ICK!!! I enjoyed watching from a safe distance in a comfy chair under the trees with a good book and a sparkly new shade of nail polish to try! Ironically, my 6 year old daughter also got the gene – but either she got it from her daddy or it skipped a generation! She also caught several fish (yay!) but they certainly weren’t big enough to eat so we threw them back! We all got to rest and relax and do what we enjoyed and everyone was happy! It was such a sweet adventure and I remain in awe of MY two best girlfriends. They are truly fabulous at fishing (and so many other things too!)
My baby girl caught a baby fish!
My favorite fisher women!
