Are you already prepping for Thanksgiving? I know I am! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I just love making it super special each and every year. This year, along with a few tasty Turkey Day dishes, I’m in charge of centerpieces as well. I wanted to share some of my favorite Thanksgiving Decor Ideas with you. There are so many beautiful things you can do with table decor. And the very best part is you don’t have to spend big bucks to make it look great!
Something as simple as candles in hurricanes of varying heights coupled with acorns, dried fruit, berries, and nuts makes a beautiful and simple centerpiece. Add in some greenery or perhaps some twigs and sticks right from outside to bring nature to your holiday dinner table.
Popcorn! Yes, popcorn! Buy real popcorn – not the microwaveable in the bag kind – and pour into candle hurricanes. Wrap a leaf (either real or from a craft store) around a candle and then secure it with twine. Place the candle on top of the popcorn kernels. For an added certain something elevate the hurricanes onto a cake stand or put a box underneath your tablecloth and put the centerpiece on top – it’s all about height!
Another elegant (and yet inexpensive) idea is to use red garden bark to fill the bottom of your vases. Michele Burt from Maddycakes used this in my birthday centerpieces last year and I still think it was GENIUS!
My favorite centerpieces include pumpkins and gourds! There are so many varieties and so many of them are lumpy and bumpy and different. I love to put them in glass vases so that you can appreciate the shapes and textures! Here is one of my past table art projects!
Speaking of gourds – they present a great way to get the kids involved – and keep them occupied! 🙂 Give each child a few gourds, some craft supplies, and let their inner artist and creator take over. You could even take it a step further and use the gourds as place/seat assignments.
Take pictures of your Thanksgiving centerpieces this year and share them with us! Gobble, Gobble!
